Read a Newspaper, and Discover the World

ZiS, Zeitung in der Schule, which is German for Newspapers in Schools. ZiS provides educational material for schools with a focus on: reading, media literacy, newspapers, and current events. Motmot is responsible for designing educational material primarily for elementary schools, and we provide additional material for high school level students.

In 2006, ZiS had elected to establish a new corporate identity. One of the client’s requests was that we keep their existing yellow and white color scheme. Focusing on reading, we make their logo mark a giant period, and inverted the letter i to make an exclamation point. The logotype is based off of Officina Serif. This design is applied to office materials such as business cards, letterheads, and notecards. The CI standards are also incorporated into ZiS’ educational materials.
